Responsibilities
The Technology & E-Organizing intern's responsibilities include:
  • Aid the Program Assistant in updating and improving website
  • Technical and creative tasks
  • Flash animation development and graphic design
  • Work independently to complete projects
 
Qualifications
  • Enrollment in or graduation from an accredited college or university
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) is required
  • An understanding of MS Access, MySQL, and web-development languages, tools and knowledge of Macromedia Flash
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and/or interest in issues involving urban governance, community and economic development, youth, health, and crime.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Strong research ability
  • Experience/familiarity with statistical packages like SAS or SPSS, ArcView mapping software and Census and other federal data sources a plus
  • High initiative, strong interpersonal skills, creativity, mature judgment.

    • This is an unpaid internship to begin around May 15 and to finish around September 1, 2007
    • Part time (20 hrs) or Full Time (40 hrs). Dates may be flexible by 1-3 weeks, depending on the needs of the applicant
    • All of our internships are based out of our office in Chattanooga, TN. We cannot provide housing for our interns
