TennCare Impact Analysis Project Intern
 
Responsibilities
 
The TennCare Impact Analysis intern's responsibilities include:
  • Organizing and attending roundtables with current and former recipients and healthcare providers
  • Researching best practices, talking to practitioners, collecting data, developing and conducting surveys
  • Assisting in the development of research and grant proposals for further study of TennCare
  • Some data entry and general office assignments may be required
  • Work independently to complete projects
 
Qualifications
  • Enrollment in or graduation from an accredited college or university
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and/or interest in issues involving urban governance, community and economic development, youth, health, and crime.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Strong research ability
  • Experience/familiarity with statistical packages like SAS or SPSS, ArcView mapping software and Census and other federal data sources a plus
  • High initiative, strong interpersonal skills, creativity, mature judgment.
 
Other
  • This is an unpaid internship to begin around May 15 and to finish around September 1, 2007
  • Part time (20 hrs) or Full Time (40 hrs). Dates may be flexible by 1-3 weeks, depending on the needs of the applicant
  • All of our internships are based out of our office in Chattanooga, TN. We cannot provide housing for our interns
